If you don’t win on the blog tour, you can still enter the grand prize drawing right here by hitting the comment button and telling me which grand prize you would choose and why. What are the prizes to pick from? The winner gets the choice of ONE of the following: $100 gift card to Sundance Catalog OR $100 gift card to Cabela’s OR $100 gift card to BRAVO! Cucina Italiana. Why did I pick those seemingly random cards? Because they all remind me of scenes from the books.

In an early scene, Maggie is packing for a trip while she’s lamenting about how different she is from her mother.

“Oh, Magpie, those boots. Nothing good can come from wearing slaughtered calf.”

But there were negatives [about her mother], too.

Maggie folded a silk blouse and tucked it beside the Frye boots in question. The contradictory parts of Maggie cringed from guilt, and she rattled off a silent prayer of thanks to the cow who lost his life to create such magnificent footwear.

Where can one buy “such magnificent footwear”? I got my Frye boots from Sundance Catalog. J Plus, Sundance is a Salt Lake City-based company, and Save My Soul starts off in Salt Lake. For a closer look at the fashion that inspired Maggie’s style and what you could use a $100 gift card for, visit Sundance Catalog.

The majority of Save My Soul is set in Lake Norman, North Carolina, one of my favorite places. When I’m at the lake with my family, there’s lots of fishing and hanging out at water’s edge. This worked its way into several scenes.

In the following scene, Maggie, a vegetarian, is grossed out by another character who is fishing:

“I feel sick inside.” Maggie cringed at the sight of a fish hanging off the end of Carlos’s line. “How can you do that?”

He shrugged. “Help me let it go.”

Maggie wrinkled every possible crease on her face and zipped her sweatshirt against the cold air. “I’m not touching it.”

“Then I guess he’ll have to eat it.”

She turned toward the silky voice that had been stuck on a conference call for the last few hours. “Hardy, har, har.”

Do you fish? Enjoy outdoor sports? Imagine what you could buy with a $100 Cabela’s gift card.

Not far from Lake Norman is a BRAVO! Cucina Italiana restaurant with an outdoor bocce court. The following scene takes place on the patio.

[Jordan] flattened his palms on the table, his right hand inches from [Maggie’s]. With a stretch of his fingers, he traced her thumb. “You know what I want.”

Oh, she knew. She’d have to be void of all senses to mistake his desire. Every part of his body screamed his intentions. And in case she didn’t have a clue, he made it clear with a palm to her knee.

Maggie jumped at the touch of his hand, and slipped her tongue around her dry mouth, trying to focus on something other than the heat he generated. “I haven’t exactly agreed to your proposition.”

He moved his hand up her thigh.

She wiggled and pulled back a bit, but he tightened his grip, holding her in place, sending jolts of pleasure to her most sensitive parts.

“I can make you happy to agree.” He inched his fingers along her inner thigh. “My powers of persuasion are legendary.”

A roar of celebration exploded from the bocce court.

Maggie squeezed her legs shut.

Think of the fun you could have at a BRAVO! near you. Of course, you’ll have to supply your own Jordon. 😉 (FYI: Not all BRAVO! Cucina Italiana’s have bocce courts.)
