Waiting on a Cover to Release

For a debut writer, there might not be anything more exciting than seeing the cover of the book. (But seeing the book on the publisher’s Upcoming Releases page is close!) I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the cover of Save My Soul a week ago, but it’s not a final copy, so I’m not allowed to share it. But I can tell you it’s gorgeous! It captures the mood of the story perfectly, and I’m so anxious to reveal it to the world. Maybe today? I won’t know until I check my Inbox and find the PDF there, and if that happens, I’ll post it to Twitter and here on this blog. (I’m still not sure what I’m doing with Facebook. I hate taking time to learn something new when I’m already so busy—especially when that something new is garnering such negative PR lately.)

So…while I wait to reveal the cover, I’m busy writing the second book in the Kemmons Brothers Baseball Series. This is Jordon’s brother Grey’s book, Change My Mind, and I love it…I love him. I also adore his feisty heroine, Nel. He’s a major league baseball centerfielder hell bent on rectifying past wrongs, and she’s a real estate agency owner, determined to prove she can make it in a man’s world. Never have two characters so perfectly appeared in my head bearing resemblances to famous people. He’s Joe Manganiello (with a beard), and she’s Meg Ryan (Sleepless in Seattle).

Somehow it works in my head. Lol. I’ll keep you posted on my progress with Change My Mind.

I’m also coordinating promotional efforts for Save My Soul, making up swag bags. Here’s a sneak peek.

Save My Soul Swag Bag

Inside? Sticky notes, pen, chocolate baseballs and lip gloss (not pictured above). And if the swag bag is part of a contest giveaway, there will be a gift card attached to the back. The one pictured includes a $25 MLB gift card good for tickets (to participating teams) or fan gear, and is for a Publisher’s Weekly celebration. I’ll give you more details when I have them.
The bottom line is I’m having so much fun. I’ve dreamed of this for a long time, and I must say so far it’s better than anything I could have imagined.

You and me both. 🙂 I promise to post a picture EVERYWHERE as soon as I have one–and the permission to post. Let’s hope it’s this week.

Thank you for the good luck wish!
